I'm not sure what it is going to grow into, but there's a ton of potential here. Like a social network for ADHD office workers :D
A few wishes:
* I do need the volume options, the jazz is lovely, but I'd love to actually silence everything but pomodoro alarm while on pomodoro. Or an option to leave the music but tune out the chatter, it's distracting for me.
* Perhaps, while on pomodoro, I'd prefer to dim everything around but leave an animation of the character working on their laptop/books/art easel.
* Incomplete z-order an walls are breaking immersion a bit. I shouldn't be able to walk on the bed, or through the table in the cafe, or be rendered above the walls I'm behind of. Ability to open doors might improve the impression too.
* Sometimes the word "TAP" appears on things, but they don't react to mouse clicks or E or Space, or I'm out of ideas how to interact with them.
* Speaking of mouse, does it make sense to control walking with mouse clicks, or maybe holding the mouse down?
* A feature that I would LOVE: iOS app which displays a warning notification if I pick up the phone during Pomodoro: "Hey, you are not supposed to look at your phone! It better be something actually urgent!" with a disapproving face of one of the bartenders or other game characters. The way DuoLing makes a disappointed face at you.
Pomodoro can be started both on PC or iPhone. It makes sense to sync status on both anyway.
* I have no idea who I am talking to when I open the journal folder. I see the portrait, but where are they on the map? Maybe teleport the player to the talking character?
* The journal could use page numbers. I don't see when it wraps around back to first page.
At present there doesn't seem to be a way to turn off the music without also turning off the (presumably existing) alarm noise when the timer hits zero. I have my own music that I would much prefer - the music currently available actually is overstimulating for me, but I do need to be notified when the timer is over. This is all under the assumption that such an alarm noise is presently implemented, maybe you haven't gotten around to it yet.
Look, I'm gonna be honest. I'm autistic, it's going to be very hard to match me and other neurodivergent folks - I really need to choose my own music. Don't use my response to the music as a verdict that the music isn't good. Still if I had to give some example of good background music I would say Walkingnorth's soundtrack to Aerial Magic is a very solid one - https://walkingnorth.bandcamp.com/album/aerial-magic-ost-season-1
Made an account just to comment about how I love this app (esp the little pixel animations like the walking, flags, and trees) and can't wait for new updates!! Is there a changelog that's available to the public? I do also have a feature request.. When you want to add new avatars or pets can you please consider adding a fish out of water or insect? Seriously, my life will forever be in your hands. Your reply to that other comment mentioned idle animations, I'd also love to see those implemented! Maybe like a criss-cross laptop animation for when you're on the streets or maybe special furniture items could unlock idle animations for studying when placed in your house! I won't yap all my ideas cuz nobody likes an "ideas guy", but regardless thank you and your team for developing this :3
Edit: Another feature request, a button that resets you to the entrance of the room you're in in settings. I accidentally glitched myself into one of the bathrooms.. and I can't get out without closing the game </3

Im super super super happy you read all my suggestion slop, i realized just today after i read it back that it wasnt the 50/50 praise/suggestion ratio I thought it was when i sent it, so I'm here again telling you how much I love your guys' app!!
I'm glad you liked my ideas! I understand what you already have is a massive workload so it means a lot that you even read them and appreciated them :3 idle animations are definitely something on the bigger side, i can't blame you guys for being wary on it, I truly didn't realize how much characters there are and how much that would all take to animate. I'm an artist that sometimes dabbles in pixel art so if I make something small and cute when I'm free from the shackles of work I can mayhaps email you the assets if you want some more things to browse at, for free of course :p
I hope development and personal things are all going smoothly!! I wasn't aware you guys had social media!! Gave you a follow :3

i’m actually working on proper alarms rn, and there will be separate controls for music vs timer sounds, so you can keep alerts on without music

when you’re in focus mode the character just stays still (kinda like they’re focusing too lol). but i do wanna play around with some idle animations 👀
